Building Natural Supports When receiving waiver supports it is often easy to rely solely on paid supports. This training will give you new ideas of building healthy relationships and a broad circle of supports for a person with a disability. Life and Death What we did different! In his school years, Lucas was being pointed in the direction of the nearest sheltered workshop. Lucas had no desire to go there for the rest of his life, nor included greeting people or janitorial work. I had to do something different so Lucas' life would be meaningful every day. This training will give you the history of developing Lucas Delivers, LLC and ideas of thinking differently. Testimonials
As a parent of a son with Autism transitioning out of high school knowing the reality of the job market for individuals with disabilities, it was an inspiration hearing Lucas and Jeannie Doiron’s presentation “What we did different!” Her candidness, honest and realistic look at starting Lucas Delivers gave me inspiration and hope. I especially love how Lucas has taken ownership of the business and how much he enjoys his job. I would recommend all parents of a child with a disability, and educators/professionals who support them hear this motivational presentation.
Bebe Bode, Parent "Jeannie and Lucas brings a fresh perspective to individuals with disabilities and employment. While so many parents are either struggling to figure out how to find employment for their adult child with a significant disability or settling for a sheltered workshop, Jeannie was creating employment for Lucas. Her strategies to find the perfect fit for Lucas in his community were not only ideal, but she was also expanding his circle of friends, and lifetime supporters. For a fresh perspective on employment and to hear from a passionate, humble mom about how she made this happen, don't miss out on a chance to hear Jeannie and Lucas."
Mary Jacob Executive Director Families Helping Families of Jefferson "Jeannie and Lucas Doiron's presentation is a must-see for families of individuals transitioning to adulthood. This presentation was an eye-opening experience for me and helped me to not only see a future for my son, but see opportunities I had never seen before for him in our community. Their success story was both informative and inspirational and has already had a great effect on our planning and support of our son in achieving his goals in life. Jeannie and Lucas helped us see the possibilities for a meaningful and fulfilling future for our son no matter what his abilities!"
