The Advocacy Center of Louisiana (AC) is the protection and advocacy (P&A) system for Louisiana. AC protects, empowers, and advocates for people with disabilities throughout the state, and for adults over age 60 in Orleans Parish.

National Federation of Families
for Children's Mental Health The National Federation of Families for Children’s Mental Health is a national family-run organization linking more than 120 chapters and state organizations focused on the issues of children and youth with emotional, behavioral, or mental health needs and their families.

Louisiana Developmental Disability Council
Councils were created to engage in advocacy, capacity building and systems change activities and contribute to a coordinated, consumer- and family-centered, and consumer- and family-directed comprehensive system of community services, individualized supports, and other forms of assistance that enable individuals with developmental disabilities to exercise self-determination, be independent, be productive, and be integrated and included in all facets of community life.

Families Helping Families
Families Helping Families is a non-profit, family-directed resource center for individuals with special needs and their families. It is directed and staffed by parents and family members of individuals with disabilities and professionals with experience in disability services. It is this common experience that enables Families Helping Families staff to answer questions and provide technical assistance to individuals with disabilities, their families, and the professionals who serve them.
